Can you say “procrastination?” Great! That is exactly what I
have been doing the last few weeks. I haven’t posted anything lately, though I
have been meaning to. Life has been a little crazy and when I have down time,
the last thing I think about is my blog. So here it is, friends, a blog
post!
As some of you may know, I have been branching out and
trying more “natural” hair products recently. I finally tried a few things from
LUSH, which I love! I have to order some more stuff online to restock soon. I’m
just about out of the American Cream conditioner. I love it! I also tried the
BIG shampoo from LUSH as well and loved it so much, I decided to share it with
a friend whose hair type is similar to mine. A friend of hers, named Alexis,
saw my recommendation and contacted me about a brand that offers natural
alternatives to some skincare products. She introduced me to Verefina. Alexis
is a Verefina Independent Consultant and was nice enough to give me several
samples of the products Verefina sells.
Verefina “creates products that are free of harmful
parabens, petrochemicals (mineral oil), and artificial colors and fragrances.
…Verefina products are formulated with care using natural whole ingredients
that are safe and effective for you...” Verefina uses real olive oil, calendula
oils, shea and cocoa butters, aloe vera and other great products that can make
your skin healthier and happier! Here are the few products that I sampled and
my thoughts about each one!
- Sugar Scrub in Cool Mint- Who doesn’t like a good sugar scrub? Not only does this scrub exfoliate but it leaves your skin well moisturized too. This isn’t too abrasive on the skin but it gets the job done! I used this scrub on my feet, elbows, and arms. My lips recently went through a dry spell so I used a small amount of the lip scrub tackle that dead, dry skin, and it worked really well.
- Moisturizing Deodorant Cream in Grapefruit/Spearmint- I’ve been interested in trying some healthier more natural alternatives to the deodorant I currently use. We’ve all heard stories about how there are toxic substances in the deodorant products that we use everyday. You just apply this deodorant cream with your fingers. Not only does this deodorant smell good, it doesn’t leave residue on your clothing. I felt that it did well with keeping my underarms dry too.
- Lemon Coconut Creamy Facial Cleanser with Gentle Exfoliating Jojoba Beads- This was my absolute FAVORITE sample. This past winter was fairly dry in southern Idaho and my skin and hair have had a hard time adjusting. I have combination skin which is dry for the most part and oily in my T-zone. The amount of water I drink hasn’t quite helped to keep my skin and hair hydrated. Because of that, my usual facial cleanser has become way too abrasive and drying for my skin. I’ve been on a quest for the right product and this cleanser from Verefina is wonderful! I can honestly say that the lemon component to this product is great in the mornings. It feels like it awakens your face and makes it feel fresh and vibrant. The jojoba beads are tough enough to clean and exfoliate the skin, but gentle enough that you could use the cleanser everyday. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone! I love it!
- Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Facial Cream- This anti-aging cream contains omega fatty acids which boost collagen production. This cream has a subtle citrus scent to it and has a pretty light consistency. It claims to be a non-greasy product. When I used it I felt like it was a little greasy at first. I waited several minutes before I applied any makeup and my skin seemed to absorb the product. A little goes a long way with this cream. If you apply too much it just takes the skin a few more minutes to completely absorb the cream.
- Aloe & Calendula lotion- The sample I tried was in the Grapefruit scent, which wasn’t my absolute favorite. I would opt in for the Spearmint version. This lotion has very lightweight formula but it is super moisturizing. This is especially nice to regenerate your skin after a dry winter.
There you have it, friends! If I had to pick one product to recommend
to you, I would pick the Lemon Coconut Creamy Facial Cleanser. I liked it so
much, I’ll probably be purchasing one here very soon! And a big thank you to
